Chef Evelyn Garcia joins Politan Row Houston as the next step in her culinary entrepreneurship journey with Kin, bringing the flavors of Southeast Asia back home. Born and raised in Houston and a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America, Chef Evelyn has traveled, staged, and learned from chefs all over the world. Between stints at Jean Georges’ Spice Market, Masak, and Kin Shop in New York, she traveled and worked in kitchens across Thailand, India, and throughout Asia, while also finding time to compete on and win Chopped. Upon returning to Houston, Chef Evelyn hosted pop-ups across the city and cooked as Chef in Residency at Decatur Bar before choosing to take her Southeast Asian concept to new heights at Politan Row.

At Kin, expect a fresh take on Thai food from Chef Evelyn’s extensive experience with Southeast Asian cuisine. Featuring scratch-made curries, rice bowls, and salads, Kin showcases the region’s balance of flavors that make the cuisine so unique and dear to Chef Evelyn’s heart.
